Are Magic Mushrooms Safe?

Magic mushrooms are a type of fungi that contains the psychoactive compound psilocybin. Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in more than 200 species of mushrooms, commonly known as magic mushrooms or shrooms.

Psilocybin is not considered addictive and there is no evidence that it causes long-term mental health problems. However, it can cause short-term side effects, such as anxiety, paranoia, and hallucinations. Magic mushrooms are not considered safe for people with mental health problems.

Magic mushrooms are often taken for their psychoactive effects, including euphoria, altered thinking, visual and auditory hallucinations, and changes in perception. Psilocybin can also cause nausea and vomiting.

Magic mushrooms are usually ingested by eating them raw, cooked, or dried. They can also be brewed into tea or made into an extract. Psilocybin is also sometimes sold in the form of capsules or tablets.

It is important to note that magic mushrooms are not legalized in many countries and possessing them can result in criminal charges.
