What Is Microdosing?

Microdosing is the act of consuming sub-perceptual (sub-threshold) amounts of a psychedelic substance. This is usually done by taking “hits” or “doses” that are a tenth to a twentieth of a recreational dose and is intended to produce subtle changes in thinking, perception, and mood.

The term “microdosing” was coined by Dr. James Fadiman, a researcher investigating the potential benefits of psychedelics since the 1960s. In his book The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide, Fadiman outlines protocols for safe and effective psychedelic use, including microdosing.

While there is no formal research on microdosing psychedelics, there is a growing body of anecdotal evidence that suggests that the practice can have profound changes in one’s mood, creativity, and productivity.

Microdosing can be done with various substances, but the most common are LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, and DMT. It is important to start with a very low dose and increase gradually, as there is a risk of having a bad trip if the dose is too high.

Psychedelics are potent substances that can cause profound changes in consciousness. Microdosing allows people to explore the potential benefits of these substances without having a full-blown psychedelic experience.

While there is no formal research on microdosing, anecdotal evidence suggests that it can have benefits for mood, creativity, and productivity.
